The Ad Editor
The editor is where you turn a generated or blank ad into finished creative. Open it by clicking any ad inside an Ad Concept. uplane chooses the right editor for the ad type:
- Image editor — for image ads.
- Video editor — for video ads.
- Google Ads editor — for Google Display Network ads.
You can edit text, swap and reposition images, adjust colors, and arrange your layout directly on the canvas.
Working with formats
A single ad usually needs to exist in several shapes so it fits different placements. In uplane these are called formats.
Common image formats:
| Format | Shape | Typical placement |
|---|---|---|
| 1:1 | Square | Instagram & Facebook feed |
| 4:5 | Portrait | Instagram & Facebook feed |
| 9:16 | Tall | Instagram & Facebook stories (and Reels for video) |
| 1.91:1 | Wide | Facebook link ads |
Video ads are typically produced in 9:16 for Stories, Reels, and similar placements. Google display ads come in standard display sizes (for example, Medium Rectangle).
The format switcher
Use the format switcher in the editor to:
- Move between formats to edit each one.
- Add the formats you need for a given ad.
- See at a glance which formats are ready.
Resize and AI re-frame
Designing every format by hand is slow, so the editor can do the work for you:
- Resize — adapt your design to other formats while keeping your layout intact.
- AI re-frame — let uplane intelligently re-compose the artwork for other shapes (for example, turning a square into a tall story) so the important parts stay in view. Pick the target formats and uplane generates them.
While AI is generating a format, you'll see a progress indicator on that format. If a format fails to generate, uplane flags it so you can retry or adjust.
Tip: Get one format looking exactly right first, then use AI re-frame to produce the others. It's much faster than starting each format from scratch.
Saving and exporting
Your work saves as you go, so your ad and its formats are kept up to date. For Google display ads, an export option packages the creative in the sizes you need for the Google Display Network.
Next step
When an ad and its formats look right, you're ready to launch.
